In the first part of this lesson we followed how to prepare the work document, draw the background and shape the asteroids.
Click Here for the first part
Now we will follow the design and start first by designing the star shape. Choose the Ellipse shape tool and click one click on the artboard and then place the 5 pixel value for the width and height to get a very small circle.
Double the circle with shortcuts Ctrl + C and Ctrl + F and then enlarge the shape of the new circle slightly.

Select the two circles, click an additional click on one of them, then use the horizontal and vertical alignment tools from the top toolbar to align them perfectly.

Select the large circle and right-click it and choose the Menu.
Arrange > Send to Back
To be sent down the small circle shape.
Effect > Blur > Gaussian Blur
Then place the value 2.5 pixels for the radius.
Select the two circles together and right-click on them and choose Group to group them into one group. This shape will be a star shape.
Drag the star to the symbols panel. Then drag this symbol several times to drawing pad and randomly distribute it. Also adjust the star sizes randomly.
We will now begin drawing the shape of the comet. Drag the cloud shape and right-click it and choose Break Link to Symbol.

copy the shape and drag the copy down twice just as we did at the beginning of design and then unify the three shapes together through Unite from the Pathfinder panel.

Draw a perfect circle and place it to cover the left part of the shape of the cloud and then adjust the size and position to cover the left part perfectly as we did at the beginning.

Select the circle and right-click it and choose Menu
Arrange > Send to Back
Open the Layers panel and lock the circle shape.
Select the right points of the cloud shape using the Direct Selection tool and drag it to the right far away.
Select the right head circles and drag them more to the right to look more stretched.
Select the left part points of the cloud except for the top and bottom points and press Delete to delete them.
Again, select the top point and hold down Shift and click on the bottom point and then align them horizontally.

Using the Direct Selection tool, align the top and bottom points of the left side of the cloud with the top and bottom points of the circle.
Unlock the circle shape and select the two shapes and choose unite from the Pathfinder panel to unify them together.
This is the shape of the meteor and we will draw the aura surrounding it next.

Drag the shape of the cloud and break its link, then copy and paste the shape to the bottom and make the new shape covering the lower half of the top shape.

Adjust the heads of the cloud from the right side so that their heights become random.

Delete the left points of the could, except the upper and lower left, then horizontally align them, and then align the two points at the left of the cloud with the circle points as we did in the previous steps and then combine the two shapes together using the Pathfinder panel.
Note: You should have started to get used to the various tools and techniques used repeatedly in this lesson so that you will be able to easily use them in your future designs.

Put the aura over the shape of the nucleus and adjust the size to be slightly larger.

Select the right points of the aura and drag it away towards the right.

Draw a circle larger than the circle of the aura and place it in a way that matches the center of the aura circle.
Draw a rectangle extending from the right of the aura to the middle of the new large circle. The new shape will be the tail of the meteor.
Combine the circle and rectangle together and then adjust in size to be consistent with the aura and the nucleus.
Adjust the colors of the three shapes of the meteor to the degrees of blue.

Rotate the meteor with the same degree of rotation of the asteroids.
Put it within design and decrease its size to fit design.
Select the two points at the end of the tail and drag them away behind the artboard.
Finally, we have designed a stylish flat piece of space. We've used some tools, techniques and effects many times during this design, making us used to it for the future projects.
